This represents a 9% increase in the number of homes sold and closed.The average sales price changed from $347689 in 2008 to $310742 in 2009, a 11% decrease in value. As property values continue to fall transactions increase.  There is a wide variety of homes available at prices far below their peak values.

The activity for condominiums in Winthrop indicates that there were 77 condos sold in 2009 as compared to 50 in 2008. This represents a 54% increase in the number of condos sold. This aslo the peak of activity over the last four years. The average sales price changed from $259,662 in 2008 to $256,014 in 2009, a small1% decrease in value. The days on market changed 1 % from 134 to 135.

Condominium developments represent close to 50% of all housing units in Winthrop.
